The story of shweshwe

The story of shweshwe is about shweshwe cloth, including what it is, some details of its history in South Africa, and how it is made.

The book takes the reader on a journey with this special cloth. It explains how the cloth was brought to South Africa by traders and how it got its name. Then it gives details on how cotton is picked from the fields, woven in factories, dyed, and how acid rollers are used to print patterns on it. Steps are given on how to identify real shweshwe and the THREE CATS brand, along with new colors and examples of what the cloth is used for, including the world of fashion and patchwork quilts.

Each chapter has pictures with captions, such clothes made from shweshwe, King Moshweshwe and the manufacturing process.
