The Modern School Library

The prevailing concept about the school library was that it was merely a repository for books and complained of a lack of visitors. The librarian was seen as the person charged with guarding the books in the library, without taking into account the other services that he must provide to the school community. As a result of the developments that occurred in the field of libraries and information, this misconception changed.The trends and variables that accompanied scientific development and technology in all areas of scientific research had a positive impact on educational and pedagogical methods and systems and on the philosophy of education. This impact had repercussions on the school library as the basic base and axis of convergence of educational activity programs at all different levels of educational study.
