The Gardener

Mark Finch a publisher, meets and rejects the author of a crime novel, " The Gardener ". He had played this game of chess with hopeful writers many times before, and usually he got the best deal for his company. He had made his opening gambit and despite upsetting the author, he felt he had this author where he wanted him. However, this time his arrogance would have grave consequences. Who among his acquaintances had decided that on this particular day and at this tube station, it was time for retribution.
