The story contained in this book is part of Franklin County, VA folklore. The grisly tale of the Hall family has been passed down through the generations. But, as many of the county's past leaders viewed the Hall family's macabre history as an embarrassment, nothing has ever been written down...until now. By sorting through the various verbal accounts and what little documentation that does exist I have been able to stitch together, what I believe to be, an accurate accounting of the events.
