Tekel - Emotions in the Balance

In a materialistic society we tend to only give weight to those things that will bring us more of what we have often inaccurately labeled "the good life". When we do this to the neglect of our spiritual/emotional balance, we expose ourselves to a flood of unhealthy emotions that attack both those who have obtained the so-called good life and those that are still desperately seeking it. How much do negative emotions weigh on you? To what degree do they impede your progress towards God's best for your life? Heavyweight emotions such as loneliness, depression, low self-esteem, anger, and envy are overloading the scales of believers and negating the happiness and joy that should characterize the life of the Christian. To correct this imbalance we use the word of God as a counterweight to lift the heaviness of those debilitating emotions. This brings about a much needed emotional stability that releases the believer to pursue their destiny and experience true biblical happiness and joy. As we weigh and properly adjust our emotions, the scales are tipped in our favor to receive more of God's favor.
