Technology and Economic Progress

This collection of papers examines the dependency of economic progress on developments in the invention and exploitation of new products and processes, arising from technological advances. Considering this question from a number of different viewpoints, the study progresses from a discussion of the forces affecting the process of technical change, to empirical studies of technical change in different industries and firms, and a consideration of their economic and social consequences.
