Studying the social construction of environmental risks

Contemporary development in the social, political, economic and cultural contexts merits in-depth reflection on organizational aspects, valuing human promotion and the participation of social actors in decisions that directly affect people's lives. This study was based on the interpretative analysis of multispectral and multitemporal images from remote sensors and the interpretation of environmental conditions through fieldwork and an assessment of the vulnerabilities of rural families in the municipalities of Caic , in the state of Rio Grande do Norte, and Medianeira, in the state of Paran , and digital images. With the main objective of identifying the dynamics of environmental degradation, the vulnerabilities of the rural populations of the two municipalities and the forms of occupation of rural space with the aid of computer tools, it was decided to carry out a comparative study between two municipalities with very different characteristics in some respects, but very similar in others.
