The great John Muir was America's foremost preservationist of the 1800's. His many books allowed readers to live his travels vicariously, and resulted in the creation of many national parks. This book recounts his impressions of California, Utah, Nevada, Washington, Oregon and the Grand Canyon. It has been edited with explanatory scientific and Biblical annotations for a modern audience.
