Spirits of the Salines

"Ye are the salt of the earth" This slogan was adopted many years ago by the people of Vermilion County, Illinois. It pays tribute to the county's founders who, in the early 1800s, prospered from the salt (saline) springs that were abundant across the land and fulfilled a heavy demand from across the region for the much sought after commodity of salt. The slogan is used to this day and is featured on the county's official seal. Come visit the most haunted places in Vermilion County, Illinois.
