Sherman's Angels: A Christmas Story

After the death of her adopted mother, a young woman spends Christmas Eve,1888 seeking to find her birth mother but discovers instead a multi-layered tale of family mysteries and touched souls. This is the plot of Sherman's Angels: A Christmas Story, by Gary J. Grieco. Gary is a Civil War history buff and he found inspiration for this novella while reading a first-hand account of Sherman's March to the Sea. "I stumbled across an obscure reference to an unusual event that occurred to a company of Union soldiers," said Mr. Grieco. "No, it wasn't cherubs descending from the sky - it was far more down to earth than that Now I'm totally fascinated by the war's oddities, more so than the strategies and battles, and as such I could not get this little bit of quirky history out of my mind. I thought about it for two years while slowly weaving a fictional story around the historical facts. The result is a Christmas story that takes place from midday Christmas Eve to early Christmas morning, with flashbacks to the Civil War. It is a story of war, love and healing."
