She Was Deceived

As a little girl growing up in the city of New Orleans, I felt as if the absence of my fathers guidance thrust me into the arms of a cruel and unfamiliar world. I was deceived incredibly early in life and became overtaken by drugs and alcohol. After God delivered me from substance abuse, I thought to myself, I am now on my way to living a crisp, clean, and finer life. I repented of my sins and became a sincere church member. I lived in the safety zone of the church house, so I thought. As time went on, I became complacent with my new outlook on life. Not long thereafter, deception showed up and showed me who the Boss was! Being complacent hindered me from recognizing how I was born with the very nature of Eve; therefore, being born again was crucial for the saving of my soul. I was not only deceived by others, but I also deceived myself. Having a fervent desire to become a wife, I deceived myself by trying to do the right thing with the wrong man. I ignored all the red flags waving in my face. I thought to myself, once I get married, things will change. Lies!!! I made such a mess of my life and suffered because I wanted what I wanted. Eventually, I was able to better understand how I was in dire need of a savior and not just a church home. Thanks to my savior Jesus, I went from deception-to-redemption.
