The greatest lesson Waneek Horn-Miller ever learned was that “anything is possible.” After being stabbed at the age of fourteen during the Oka Crisis, she could have given up. Instead, drawing on her mother’s strength and the wisdom of her elders, Horn-Miller embraced life like never before, eventually winning a gold medal at the 1999 Pan Am Games and competing at the Olympic Games in Sydney.
