Rules for Living in Tokyo

In 1868 the Meiji Government was established, determined to end the feudal system, including Samurai. They also sought to change the habits of everyday Japanese people and end "uncultured practices." This is an illustrated guide to the new rules for Tokyo published in 1874, made available to all citizens to inform them of the new regulations, and fine them if they disobeyed.
