Released from Freedom

Jonathan Ziel, an army veteran and associate at a marketing firm, has always believed in God and America. Determined to change the world view of the Russian people, he volunteers to be a missionary with the Jesus' Crusaders Mission Society. While serving at a small nondenominational church in the city of Nizhniy Novgorod, he urges the members to embrace American values if they ever hope to settle the spiritual and economic turmoil troubling the country after the recent fall of communism. But Jonathan's unimaginable experiences with the Russians and the American government cause him to question his own world view, and ultimately, who he really is for the first time in his life. His struggle with seeing the world from two different viewpoints reshapes him forever. Released from Freedom is a story of faith and doubt, truthfulness and intrigue, and discovery and loss.
