Quentin Durward

The setting of the novel "Quentin Durward" transfers the reader into the medieval France of the XV century, to the time, when the opposition between the two great rulers the Duke of Burgundy Charles the Bold and French king Louis XI came to a head. The superstitious Louis XI discovers unexpected trust to the younger Scottish nobleman Quentin Durward and entrusts him with a number of complicated and dangerous undertakings, which initiated the beginning of the military success and personal success of the young Scot.
