Psychiatry and the Law.

In the complex and dynamic encounter between the human mind and the framework of the law, the figure of the forensic psychiatric expert stands as an essential bridge. His work is not that of a mere translator between two languages -that of the clinic and that of the law-, but that of a rigorous researcher who illuminates, with the tools of science and ethics, the most intimate nooks and crannies of human behavior in contexts of high legal and social relevance.This book, the result of more than two years of reflection and experience, does not aspire to be a dogmatic compendium or a closed manual. On the contrary, it recognizes from its very first page the absence of a universal systematization of forensic mental health practices. Its objective is more humble and, at the same time, more ambitious: to contribute to the construction of a common language, shared procedures and methods that allow us to approach as objectively as possible our ultimate raison d' tre: to serve justice and people.
