After the Japanese bombed Hawaii, a group of men from North Alabama joined the coast guard as counter guerilla warfare troops designated to defend against Nazi-Italia saboteurs, whose targets were in this area that contained TVA dams and nitrogen plants. President Roosevelt, General Bill Donovan, and Senator Lister Hill were the planners and leaders of this project.
