Finding words to express our heart’s deepest affections is not easy. For example, “we do not know how we should pray, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with inexpressible groanings.” But even the Apostle Paul desired to “speak with [his] mind,” rather than just with his spirit. Praying Scripture back to God is helpful in this regard, but it can be difficult in the beginning.
