Practical Design of Ground Improvement with Rigid Inclusions

Rigid inclusions offer a quick and economical ground improvement system and foundation method for a wide range of civil engineering structures worldwide. However, to fully realise the benefits of RIs, specific design and execution requirements must be met. If these requirements are not understood and adhered to, their use may become excessively expensive or risky. This book addresses the practical design of RI‑improved ground in accordance with the provisions of the second generation of Eurocodes. It also builds upon experience gained from completed projects and lessons learned in practice, and includes three worked examples that illustrate the design process. The book is intended primarily for geotechnical designers, consultants, and contractors, but will also be of value to graduate students and researchers.
