Originally published in 1905 as part of the Cambridge English Classics series, this book contains the English poems of Abraham Cowley (1618–67): Miscellanies, The Mistress, Pindarique Odes, Davideis, and Verses Written on Several Occasions. The text is drawn from the first collected edition of Cowley's works, published in 1668, and includes a biography of Cowley written by Thomas Sprat, later Dean of Westminster and Bishop of Rochester. This book will be of value to anyone with an interest in Cowley's works or Restoration English literature more generally.
