Pestalozzi

This book, first published in 1967, begins with a description of Pestalozzi's life in which the factors which influenced his development are outlined and the history of his educational institutes described. The author then presents Pestalozzi's most important educational ideas in a systematic way. Dealing first with the various aspects of his 'Method', the author goes on to consider certain features of Pestalozzi's theories which are of special interest - his views on discipline, on the role of teachers and parents, and on general and vocational education.
