Perceptional Cartography and District Planning

The book highlights the vital role of Perceptional Cartography in District Level Planning. Because there is an air of hesitation among the users in using maps, while the map makers i.e., Cartographers produce maps/atlases with a few users. Therefore, there is a need for hormonising the capabilities of the cartographer with the needs of the users for preparing maps/atlases as required by them. The book has sought to identify problems in using maps and also their requirements. While the cartographers suggested maps for district planning and other related aspects'' like scale, level of data, technique of mapping, periodicity of updating, etc., the author has combined the perception of the users and also the views of the cartographers. Thus, for the first time, the book which embodies the consensus of problems of maps and atlases and users for preparing a set of map themes, mapping techniques and other related aspects of making of an atlas for district planning. The book also contains a set of maps for district planning with explanatory note as per the. requirements of the map users.
