Commissioned by the Vonore Historical Society, People of Vonore includes brief stories from the people who call this special community home, in their own words. From Tom Steele's account of the VHS vs. Meigs County football game brawl, to Police Chief Reid Lindsey's many pranks, to Judge Beryl Moser's story of a man who tried to pay a traffic fine with pigs, People of Vonore is sure to entertain and warm the heart of anyone sharing an appreciation for small town America. This 2020 update to the original 2016 edition includes more than a dozen new entries, including former Vonore High School Principal, Mike Lowry, Vonore Heritage Museum pioneers, Barbara "Wolfe" and Charles "Bud" Barnby, and VHS class of '54 Valedictorian turned VES teacher, Mickie Sue (Barnes) Venable.
