On the Path of Sophia: A Catholic Woman's Journey to Wholeness

This is a personal story of the author's painful experiences growing up female in the patriarchal Catholic Church. She examines the history of the important roles women played in ancient spiritual practices that honored the Divine Feminine. Eventually, the importance of Sophia and Wisdom theology within Judeo-Christian tradition emerged as a powerful symbol in her own spiritual development. She illustrates ways feminine energy is re-emerging in society and how, by embracing Sophia within Christianity once again, the Church will be able to promote synthesis, partnership and wholeness. She calls on women to have the courage to challenge and change sexist and misogynist policies of the institutional Church. They can begin to do this by telling their own personal stories. This is a"Me, too" moment in Church history and women are being called to lead the way to reform. Sophia's presence can be a guiding light in the journey to wholeness.
