-Charles Robert Darwin, who was born in England on February 12, 1809, and died in England on April 19, 1882. He was a geologist and a naturalist. In his book, On the Origin of Species, he presented convincing evidence that every species on earth is descended from the same common primordial ancestry. His work, with certain modifications, laid the foundation for the development of the modern life sciences.
