It's the lead up to Nyla's birthday party, but she has suddenly developed an allergic reaction to dairy. Nyla is very worried; will she still be able to have chocolate cake on her fourth birthday?

This is a warm and relatable story that introduces the concept of a dairy allergy to young children and shows the fun that can be had in exploring new foods. Allergies are becoming more common among young children and so it is important for all children, with and without allergies, to understand what this means. This book helps children to learn how to adapt to having an allergy and help them to feel included. The book explores the process of discovering an allergy and the changes that need to be made following this.

As a mother of a child with an allergy, this book was written based on my personal experiences and what it has been like navigating new foods and adapting a diet to accommodate this.
