His grandfather''s words kept echoing in his mind. Then he got up and took out his sketchbook. He drew the ankh, the symbol of life in ancient Egypt, surrounded by rays of sunlight. Beneath it, he wrote: "Here, in my country, was the key to life. Here was the dawn of consciousness."
