Over four hundred years have passed since Henry Hudson first landed on present-day Manhattan, and yet to this day traces of New York’s early settlers can still be seen in the city’s plans and street names. This book uses accessible text and primary source illustrations to explore the history of New York’s earliest settlements, with an emphasis on their lasting contributions to the city today.
