Much More Than Words

Robert and Megan are brother and sister. No fighting? No arguing? Maybe, a swift wave of Robert's hand to motion Megan to leave his room, or a smile to signal her to come in. Robert was born with spina bifida and many other challenges. Robert is very happy, patient, and smiles often when feeling well. Megan is an energetic, sweet, and gentle sister. She does not see all the tubes and machinery. Megan sees him. Robert is her Bubby, and she loves him. He loves her. Robert and Megan learn about the outpouring of love from others in time of need. It was a greater gift than they could imagine: A random phone call and the giving hearts of friends that changed their world. A world of growing up together with special needs, chronic illness, and loving each other, sometimes without saying a word, just smiles and plenty of laughter. So when Mom cannot find Megan, make sure to look down in between all the pillows and stuffed animals right next to Robert.
