Moonstar Academy: A Generation Divided

Lena Black, age sixteen, loses her mother to cancer. A year later, her father, a wealthy doctor for the military, sent her to boarding school after her grades slipped while being home schooled. During a time of social upheaval, Lena, a new student at Moonstar Academy, finds herself caught between her conservative family and the radical changes of the 1960's. With the backdrop of civil marches, the Vietnam War protests, and the rise of counterculture, Lena starts a secret student group that protests against outdated rules and gender discrimination. Later she discovers an underground group of girls known as "e;The Sisterhood Rebellion,"e; who quietly defy the social expectations of the time. Together both groups work as one to fight back against sexism, explore their own desires, and take on more leadership roles, all while tensions rise between the administration and students. Lena must navigate her role in the revolution and protect her friends from the headmaster, who enforced strict traditions.
