Mixture of Yue and Han

Lingnan was originally a place of Baiyue, which was separated by Wuling Mountains. Its lifestyle and customs were quite different from those of the Central Plains in the same period.After the unification of the six kingdoms, Qin set up counties in Lingnan, deployed a large number of Qin troops, and migrated businessmen and criminals to Lingnan. Lingnan area began to be ruled by the central government.In the mixed situation of Han and Yue, Yue people are influenced by Han culture and customs on the one hand, while on the other hand, they retain the tradition of Baiyue culture and enrich the connotation of Lingnan culture.This book combines archaeological and documentary materials to analyze the cultural characteristics of Han and Yue people in Lingnan area and their cultural conflicts and integration. It also hopes to understand the cultural features of Hong Kong in Qin and Han Dynasties by discussing Lingnan culture.
