Middleton

Step back in time to the days when Middleton was little more than village. Admire its halls and explore the old lanes; gaze at the old shop windows and hear the mill engines. All this becomes possible with the help of this collection of over 200 carefully selected photographs - and a little imagination! Many of these photographs are rare and have not previously appeared in print, and never before have so many early pictures of Middleton been collected into one book. Hannah Haynes spent many years as the the Local Studies Librarian at Middleton and is now Reference Librarian for Rochdale Metropolitan Borough. Carl Goldberg is an enthusiastic local historian and a member of the Middleton Civic Association.
