Maile Dekheko Durbar (मैले देखेको दरबार)

The book, ‘Maile Dekheko Durbar’ by former Military Secretary to the King, Lt. Gen Vivek Kumar Shah, is an attempt to bring to light the truths and facts hidden in the deepest corners of the Narayanhiti Raj Durbar (Royal Palace). The book valiantly and unhesitatingly unearths events, such as the Royal Palace Massacre, King Gyanendra’s October 1 Move, the Maoists’ Armed Rebellion and its genesis and the forces backing it, the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) between Nepal’s mainstream political parties and the Maoists, the end of monarchy in Nepal, and
the former kingdom’s new avatar as a federal democratic and secular republic. It’s understandable that some of the most confidential and sensitive information would never be revealed, taking into consideration the author’s professional ethics and personal conscience. However, whatsoever has come down to us is more that what we could expect.
