Lustrum Band 61 - 2019

Lustrum Volume 61 now includes two more profound and important chapters of Edzard Visser's (Basel) research report on Homer 1977-2000: Chapter VII offers a broad overview of metrics, prosody and intonation, including the history of the origins of the hexameter, in Chapter VIII Edzard presents Visser knowledgeably and precisely the research literature on "Homer and oral poetry" and documents not only the techniques of verse formation and recent further developments of the Parry-Lord model, but also literary-scientifically significant developments in research on Homeric poetry resulting from oral poetry.
