Los veinticuatro presbiteros del Apocalipsis

Alrededor del trono divino, Juan contempla "e;presbiteros"e;, a quienes distingue mediante un rico simbolismo numerico (veinticuatro), cromatico (blanco, dorado) y antropologico (tronos, mantos, coronas, sentados). Como todo simbolo, este grupo es portador de un mensaje velado, que es develado atendiendo a su presentacion (Ap 4,4) e interaccion (4-5; 7,9-17; 11,15-18; 14,1-5; 19,1-8). En los veinticuatro presbiteros el autor propone las caracteristicas de la Iglesia y de quienes la representan liturgicamente: el teocentrismo y el cristocentrismo de la vida; el valor de la liturgia como posibilidad real de comunion con la trascendencia; la adoracion a Dios como manifestacion del culto y expresion de la "e;creaturalidad"e;; la unidad que enriquece y se enriquece de la universalidad; la dignidad real y sacerdotal de los redimidos; la victoria conquistada mediante la fidelidad perseverante. Lideres y representantes ante Dios son quienes vencen, descuellan por su integridad y consiguiente ejemplaridad, encarnan la unidad y diversidad de la iglesia y testimonian la colegialidad en la corresponsabilidad. Estas tecas vivientes de la palabra son sacerdotes del pueblo sacerdotal con acceso al "e;lugar santisimo"e;, como mediadores entre Dios y los "e;santos"e;. A lo largo de la historia, celebran al Cordero degollado en medio de ellos en la liturgia del domingo, hasta cuando su ultima palabra, el aleluya, haga eco en la eternidad. Leadership and representatives before God are those who win and stand out for their integrity and subsequent example of life, those who incarnate the unity and diversity of the Church and give testimony of jointly responsible collegiality.
