Living Beyond Sight

The year is 1950. A child is born in Louisiana. She takes her first breath emerging from a pisspot, unaware of the challenges that await her. Sandra Jean Cole, a blind Black woman who was raised by sharecroppers, introduces us to the people and events that impacted her life as she became the first totally blind public school teacher in East Baton Rouge Parish.
