L'Indexicalite Incarnee: Une Theorie Deferentialiste de la Reference Indexicale

What is the nature of the lexically regulated contextual dependence of indexical expressions? This work provides an answer based on the idea of deference to pre-lexical semiotic relations. It thereby raises the possibility of a perceptive, and therefore embodied, indexical reference.
