Lift Every Voice...and Think is a journey of the Jefferson family who entered the 1950s as sharecroppers to emerge this century as professional, thought-provoking individuals who have tasted the American dream and want more of it not only for themselves but also for all Americans who believe they can make a difference. This three-generation journey spans seven decades of thoughts and reflections from JFK to Black Lives Matter. Their thoughts on police brutality, civil rights, women's rights, spirituality, love, and admiration for family and friends are but a few of the topics. Black on Black crime, drug uses, the Holocaust, and the treatment of African American women are on the menu.
