The Life of Henry V continues the epic story of Richard II; Henry IV, Part One; and Henry IV, Part Two. He is revealed as a serious candidate for rulership, someone who has, in actuality, been preparing himself for this role. Memorable scenes in the Life of Henry V include the St. Crispins address, the wooing of Katherine, and those including Fluellen, who comes to represent true British loyalty. The Life of Henry V could be said to represent the apotheosis of the history plays, Shakespeare at his best in revisiting British history and elevating it to a form of national reverence.
