This book not only enlightens us about the days of abundance and starvation during the expedition, it also provides an insight into their cooking techniques. The authors have over 50 years combined experience as Lewis and Clark re-enactors. They have field tested their theories using authentic game and equipment the corps very likely used. That experience as well as their research has resulted in a good understanding of how the explorers probably survived during their journey across the continent.
