Language Is Art: HIV Activity Book tells the real-life story of how a little girl learned at an early age the impact of language on the lives of people living with HIV. This book describes how Shyloh came to understand the power of words and learned how to use empowering rather than stigmatizing language to talk about HIV and people living with HIV--like her mom. This youth-centered activity workbook offers hours of learning and fun; a variety of essential learning activities including writing, coloring, geometry, decoding, puzzles, mazes, word games, connect the dots, matching, drawing, tic-tac-toe, creating words, quizzes, fill in the blanks, and more. Topics discussed include: People First Language, Empowering & Appropriate Language, Non-Verbal Communication, Supportive Responses, Open Communication, Casual Contact, Critical Thinking, Compassion/Empathy & Respect, Kindness, Effective Communication, Medical Terminology, Science-Based Education, Finding A Cure, and A Pledge.
