Jananne Al-Ani

Jananne Al-Ani’s haunting, delicately honed work in video and photography is distinguished by its evocative portraits and its intimate and compelling narratives. The first monographic survey of Al-Ani’s work, this publication highlights video installations from 1996 onwards, while also referencing a selection of earlier photographic pieces. Produced to accompany the exhibition of Al-Ani’s ‘The Visit’ at Tate Britain in 2005, the book features newly commissioned essays by Claire Doherty and Angela Weight, alongside an interview with the artist by Richard Hylton.Published by Film and Video Umbrella.
