Invisible Wounds

This story is the journey of an individual searching to find his identity and purpose. Though people told author Shelly V. Chaney that he was stupid and would never amount to anything, he continued to strive toward his American dream. He loved and still loves a country that hasn't always loved him back. Invisible Wounds presents a true account of his career in the US Navy as a hospital corpsman and the answer he received when he was done. While sharing his story as a veteran, he also describes the intense struggles that veterans face on returning home, particularly with regard to medical care. Veterans give everything they have to defend America, and their medical needs should be given the same respect. Chaney has done his best to stand in that breach, despite resistance from large and powerful organizations. This memoir tells one man s story as a veteran, allowing veterans voices to be heard and the true story of their medical records to be revealed.
