Inside Law Enforcement

Immigration and Customs Enforcement was formed in 2003 by President George W. Bush as part of the effort to combine and consolidate several border protection, immigration, and port security services into one agency. This book gives an overview of the functions, structures, and controversies encountered by the federal agency. From the post-9/11 role of the agency to the recent immigration scandals, students will learn how this enforcement force patrols our borders to keep out criminals and terrorists and what happens when its work becomes politicized.
