A moonlit field swept by hissing snow; a farm lane striped with golden sun and tree shadows; a warm kitchen filled with the aroma of baking bread; these are some of Mark Whitney's favorite haunts. They are places to escape for a little while the rush and pressure of a digital age.

In Ink Drops, Whitney gathers eighty poems, written over the course of one year, to celebrate the seemingly simple yet profound beauty of home and nature. Most are written in the Haiku form, however, Whitney takes a relaxed attitude toward the five-seven-five syllable structure. A few started out as Haiku, but ended up a bit longer because they just kept growing and couldn't be stopped.
