Infrastructure in ECOWAS countries

Demographics are essential for defining policies in all areas. Projections on the scale of one generation suggest the scale of the efforts that countries in the region will have to make in terms of education, access to healthcare and employment". As a result, governments will have to make a major effort to finance the infrastructure needs of the ECOWAS region. Unfortunately, the immensity of the needs, the small size of the economies, the constraints of macroeconomic equilibrium and the state of the region's financial infrastructure all point to the region's inability to face the challenge of financing its needs alone. An analysis of the different modes of financing reveals many limitations and obstacles to overcoming the issue of infrastructure financing, which is as complex as the concept itself.
