I See Shapes is aligned to the Common Core State Standards for English/Language Arts, addressing Literacy.RI.K.4 and Literacy.L.K.1. The shape featured in each spread is superimposed on each photograph to make it obvious to readers what shape is being discussed. By looking at a window, the reader sees a square.
