India's Northeast

India's Northest consists of Arunachal Pradesg, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura. It has a unique landscape, cultural traits and shares intenational borders with several East and Southeast Asian countries. According to the Anthropological Survey of India there are 300 distinct tribes speaking over 400 dialects. This region has an immense treasure of resources and yet is grapphing with predicament of 'identity and ethnicity.
