Impact of Antibiotics Administration on Factors of Reproductive System

This book illustrates the effects of different antibiotics treatment (levofloxacin, ciprofloxacin and rifampicin) on certain sperm function parameters and even on reproductive tissues and to investigate whether these drugs can affect sperm DNA integrity or chromatin structure quality. At the end of this study, it was concluded that levofloxacin and ciprofloxacin can produce negative effects on fertility potential in male rat in a dose and time dependent manner essentially by interfering with sperm DNA integrity level. Rifampicin can exert adverse effect on male fertility potential mainly by affecting sperm chromatin structure quality.
