I Will Lift Up My Eyes: A Journey of Hope Through Cancer

In January of 2016 I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I remember the fear of just hearing that word spoken out loud as I contemplated the surgery and treatment to come. Yet out of that fear came the beginnings of my journey of hope through God and His faithfulness. The day after my diagnosis I began the journal which is the basis of this book. Through my journal entries, scripture reading, and reflection, I began to see God in a very real way and to rely on Him. Psalm 121:1, 2 says "I will lift up my eyes unto the hills from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth." This devotional was inspired by those verses and by the amazing grace shown to me by God throughout the course of this experience. The many sleepless hours, walking the floors in the dark or lying awake in my bed, were the beginning of this journey of hope that has been rooted in the love and faithfulness of God. I can only hope that, wherever you are in your spiritual walk or whatever trials you are going through, you can walk along with me through mine and feel the warmth of the arms of God enveloping you and comforting you.
